Wellesley Women’s Institute Ingredient Analysis:
Criteria | Our Comments | |
Phytoestrogenic Ingredients For Hot Flashes | Estrogen deficiency during menopause causes hot flashes. Source Naturals Hot Flash has isoflavones, from soy, dong quai, and licorice root. All of which are weakly estrogenic plant compounds.
Progesterone and/or Progesterone Precursors | Progesterone balances out estrogen and is essential when supplementing the body with estrogen. Source Naturals Hot Flash has chasteberry which raises progesterone levels. It also has progesterone precursors in black cohosh.
Artificial dyes | Source Naturals Hot Flash has no titanium dioxide. |
Source Naturals Hot Flash Ingredients
Source Naturals Hot Flash has isoflavones mostly from soy. Isoflavones are plant molecules that exhibit estrogen-like behavior. They are not estrogens but are similar enough to bind to estrogen receptors throughout your body.
Source Naturals Hot Flash also has Chaste Tree Berry which helps elevate progesterone levels and black cohosh which has precursors to progesterone.
Does Source Naturals Hot Flash Work?
As we have discussed, the main cause of menopause symptoms is the lack of estrogen and progesterone. Source Naturals Hot Flash addresses both of these causes.
The use of isoflavones in the formulation reduces hot flashes experienced during menopause. However, the isoflavones in Source Naturals Hot Flash only comes from three sources: soy, dong quai, and licorice. Keep in mind that phytoestrogens cannot be used alone for menopause. They need to be balanced by progesterone. Source Naturals Hot Flash has some ingredients that address progesterone levels.
Is Source Naturals Hot Flash Safe?
Traditional Hormonal Hormone Replacement Therapy relies on supplying the body with estrogen and/or progesterone.
Source Naturals Hot Flash has ingredients that raise progesterone and progesterone precursors to balance the isoflavones.

I see phyto & progesterone, but what about testosterone levels. They diminish during menopause also, don’t they. Is that a cause of the loss of libido??
It sure is. During normal menstrual cycles the body will provide a spike in testosterone that coincides with ovulation which heightens sex drive. This typically happens 2 weeks after your period.
Has anyone tried this yet? How well does it help with hot flashes? What about mood swings? I need some relief and would like to know how some of these items work for those things. Any help is appreciated.
Hi, i have been using this product for 3 months – when i used the recommended 3 tablets – i found that i went down from having about 8-10 hot flashes (day) 4/5 (night) to almost none.
I cut back on the tabs – to about 2…because i was thinking that they might be making me more drowsy (?) and now i have a couple flashes in the day, and 1-2 at night that are milder. It has been really helpful and my only concern has been are there any longer term side effects? Good luck!
I want to know if this supplement can be taken with medicines or other vitamin supplements?
I bought the large bottle of these, and they did absolutely nothing to help with the hot flashes, etc. Wondering if there is something else I should try that might work better?
Anyone notice this evaluation is headed “Source Naturals,” but above the Ingredients list, it says, “NewPhase Compete?” I hope these are the ingredients in Source Naturals, because my doctor wants to review the ingredient list.
if I take 3 hot flash with a full estrectemyy will this work for me?
also would i need to keep taking 1/4 perium
Hi – I am 60 yrs. old now and I have been using this product for 3 consecutive months now and I must say it is working better and better the more I use it. I use it with the progesterone cream (2x daily) and my hot flashes are down to maybe 3 or 4 a day. I usually get through the night w/o any night sweats. I have been experiencing hot flashes since 2004 and am waiting for the day when they cease and desist completely. In the meantime, I find these 2 products work for me. I tried Amberen and I had to use double the dose in order for it to work for me. Doubling the dose however caused my breasts to be very sore – similar to when I got my period. I had to go back to single dose for Amberen and then it didn’t work at all.
When the hot flashes first started, I went on HRT for one year and my chest started to get a very tight feeling, so I stopped the HRT and tried different OTC therapies. The combo I wrote about above seems to work the best for me.
I am looking for something to address the weight gain associated with menopause. I took care of the hot flashes by increasing my calcium/magnesium/vit d. If I take less than 1000 mg of cal/500 mg mag per day, the hot flashes resume within a couple of days of dropping the dosage so I stay consistent and no hot flashes. But in the last year I have put on 15 lbs even though my exercise level has increased to try to control it. Also consuming less sugar has not impacted it. The weight just won’t come off. It is primarily on my belly and butt. Gugulipids? Green tea? Has anyone tried these with success?
